Local reality singing contest shock exit? I think not.
Twitter and facebook are excellent channels of information which lets me get the feel of whats happening locally and around the world. *Ris low credit card fraud anyone?*

Without twitter or facebook, i would not be hearing people complaining sooooo much about how a certain contestant was booted off a local reality singing contest last night..
Lets be real here (gosh, so simon) bad and disappointing performance, *click* you are out. It does not matter if you are known to have a huge amount of talent prior if you screw up the performance to the public.
Whats worse, our beloved judges totally did not harp on these aspects.. haiz haiz haiz...
Try impressing him. So far at the idol shows, those tht have shocked him are fantasia, carrieunderwoord leonalewis and susan boyle. lol
There have been bigger travesties when jeassea from the first season of the show got voted off in the first week. and even when her performance was so good... Imagine the howls of protests throughout Singapore when that happened. Even my mum called me to deliver the news!
Sorry, bad performance, out you go.
Of course, we must be sympathetic here, because we know tht there are some who screwed up even worse but got in thru because tween fans going gaga... and nt in a neorotic avant garde sort of way but the cutesey way when you see zac efron seeing his heart out on the HSM series. that type of gaga..

All I am saying is, shock should be reserved for good performances and not being appreciated by being sent home.
'Pity' should be the word used when a talented person was sent home because of a disappointing performance.

Recently, the Sunday Times wrote an article defending and giving sympathy towards Ris Low, ms spore world 2009. I wun be uploading the video here as I think many of you have seen it.
After reading the article, I could not stomach it and decided to write an email to the sunday times. Doubt it will be published so here is what i wrote.
Dear editor,
Your article on Miss Singapore World 2009, Ris Low is the weakest the newspaper has come up with since I started reading the Sunday Times in my primary school days. Many points put forward can hardly be justified!
Bad English means bad English. There is no going around it. I could not believe my eyes when even head honchos like the chairman of the Speak Good English campaign can defend her and the video.
There is a difference, no matter how subtle, between Singlish and her spoken English. Singlish is where Singaporeans mish mash different languages, typical of the races in Singapore in both structure and grammer. Our dear Ris Low here has instead tried to sound more "westernised", albeit to a terrible effect. A perfect example can be seen from Mdm Juanita Melson who was the voice many Singaporeans hear when traveling on our MRT trains and stations for many years. "We are Singaporeans and we do not need an accent!"
Following comments from the events director of ERM World Marketing, I am aghast to hear that the Miss World contest is a beauty contest where beauty is most important. I am sure many people are with me when I say that such contests consist of so many more things than just beauty. Contestants answers and thought pattern are equally important during the Q&A sessions which ultimately decides the winner. One of the sponsors, Mr Kelvin Koh, gave reasons like "youth" and "lack of experience" in public speaking. I think this is ridiculous and a very weak reason for the catastrophe we have seen from the video. Youth and lack of experience do not account towards speaking well. You can be jittery due to the lack of experience in public speaking, but that should not hinder the proper use of the language. I also think that the teacher who mentioned that she is a representative of our language abilities is outrageous! It is not mentioned which school she is teaching at but most Singaporeans do speak well when an effort is made! I feel a personal disappointment and a big insult to those teaching when a teacher with a defeatist attitude gives such "hope" to those students around her.
In all, I have always seen the Straits Times and Sunday Times as one of the many tools used to upkeep and improve the standard of English besides keeping Singaporeans informed about world and local events. Good language is something that the newspaper stand for. Publishing a sympathy piece on the issue for Ris Low IS NOT GOING TO WORK!

Considering that many say that this season. there are many strong female contenders, it is reassuring to know that the guys have it in my friend justin. Yeah, some may say this is a biased entry.
Well, it cant be tht biased when the clips prove themselves.

With the end of this semester, somehow brought all the more drama... drama which everyone loves to hear...
1) Imagine dealing with a 20 year old aunty for 4 mths.. no mean feat though heard some others had her since poly days.. thts like years! *shudders*
Aunty, first rule: do not scoop pastries into yur plastic bag and hope to scamper off without anyone seeing what u did...
2) Though i always thot of myself as a kid, somehow u start noticing tht there r many who are my age or older(i dunno) but still have brains the size of a pea and personalities tht are zilch... and some still ask why i dun hang arnd ppl my age more often. CLASSIC EXAMPLE HERE PEEPS!
3) And of course, you encounter the manipulator who might just be the smartest of them all. but, if they get found out, maybe not so smart. just sneaky...
